Smartphone addiction creates imbalance in brain, by a Report

According to a study presented at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), researchers have found an imbalance in the brain chemistry of young people accustomed to smartphones and the Internet.

We can find many people sticking to a small electronic device here and there. One of them may be by himself, why people use smartphones, but a recent study allows people to be more than ten reasons to think about completely separating their digital friends.

According to the recent Pew Research Center study, 46 percent of Americans say that they can not live without their smartphones, although this feeling is clearly evident, more and more people are reporting news, information on smartphones and other portable electronic devices. Games and even sometimes phone calls are becoming increasingly dependent.

With the help of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS), Dr. The team led by Dr. Hyung Suk Seo examined the effects of smartphone usage and changes in brain chemistry, which included groups of 19 people diagnosed with smartphone addiction.

There were 9 men and 10 women in this group, which was an average age of 15.9 years. Of the 19 teenagers, 12 were given cognitive behavioral therapy, which went for nine months.

Through standardized tests, many questions were raised before the people, how they use smartphones and the Internet, their daily routine, sleep patterns, social life etc. Tested before and after cognitive behavioral therapy.

According to the Dr. Seo, teenagers, which had high intensity of addiction, used to get higher marks for depression, anxiety, insomnia, and upheaval. This is due to the imbalance of brain chemicals including GABA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid) and flux (Glutamate-glutamine). Their work is to slow down brain signals and stimulate neurons, respectively.

Researchers found that GABA has significantly reduced the Glx ratio after Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Medical treatment may be able to reduce adverse effects of smartphone addictions but what is more important, we should restrict the use of smartphones and the Internet because they are already growing in growth.

However, it can not be denied that these things have become more important than luxury a decade ago. Earlier this year, a doctor concluded that smartphone addiction is equivalent to drug addiction. When we have companies that try to make habit-making products, then the situation gets worse.
